A new HO scale model railroad module has been started. This one is a 4×1 feet module, designed to connect the the west end of the 6×1 feet Illinook switching module, and will act as a fully sceniced staging module, with an MPD so I have an excuse to have most of my locomotives on the layout at the same time.
The module will probably be called Blue Island, to suggest the source, destination or waypoint of most Dolton and Illinook freight which is the B&OCT and IHB yards in Riverdale / Blue Island, Illinois.
So far the baseboard has been made, and most of the track have been laid and pinned down. Here is a photo of progress so far.
The MPD will be in the right foreground, the two tracks along the top will be to stage trains.
