Recently I uploaded 3 videos of an operating session on my 6×1 feet HO scale Dolton Industry Park switching layout. The videos feature 3 trains arriving and departing from the park – a Burlington Northern local, an Indiana Harbor Belt (IHB) transfer, and a Chessie (B&OCT) transfer – and plenty of switching. Of all the cars moved on the videos, only 1 was NOT part of a virtual interchange movement!

All 3 video combined amount to about 55 minutes of video. This goes to show that a small layout can be extremely interesting to operate. Maybe partly because of the confined space a small layout requires more forward thinking, a bit like playing chess!
