The Petra Aggregates re-development on my HO scale Dolton Industry Park switching layout is coming along nicely, with the trestles in place. I took a while to get the wood to make the trestles and track supports because the nearest hobby shop is around 45 kilometres (about 28 miles) away. But recently we needed to go to within a “stones throw” of the hobby shop, so I took the opportunity and pourchased what I needed.
In the past I used balsa wood to build trestle bridges, but this time Spruce and Pine was the choice, mainly because there was the choice. Normally the only choices are Balsa or Balsa! There is still a bit of a gap between the rails and the trestles, but that will be filled in the near future.
At least it’s starting to look more finished now!
